Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. In cases of disagreement between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle in Thurrock, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional charges. A valid, full driving licence for the relevant vehicle category is required, held for the duration stated in your Rental Agreement. You must also present valid identification, proof of current address, and provide payment details along with a security deposit. Please refer to your Rental Agreement for any further requirements.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Thurrock office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is necessary to inspect the vehicle carefully and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. The vehicle must also be returned with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental; refueling charges will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please inform us as soon as possible if you expect a delay. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, along with a processing fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. You can find full details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial exposure. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, except where additional coverage applies. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of any insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Usage of our vehicles for any unlawful activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, off-roading, or any other dangerous undertakings. Transporting hazardous materials is also not allowed. Sub-letting to unauthorized individuals or permitting unapproved drivers is forbidden. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding weight or passenger limits, and driving outside designated geographical areas without prior permission are unacceptable practices.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Thurrock is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount paid for the rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services signifies your acceptance of the revised Terms.
